Sometimes when you are organizing a party it can be tough to know what you can do that will make it a special event. All too often people think about having a costume party but then it all falls apart as the guests can’t think of what to come as or they don’t want to spend any money on hiring a costume for the weekend.
One idea I have seen used with great success is having everyone pick a costume wig from a box that you have by the front door. As the guest enters they choose a wig and maybe something small from another box of goodies and they make up their own story. You can off course add anything you like to the boxes, feather boas,sheets (to make ponchos with or be a ghost), or a small riding crop normally brings someones inner story teller to the fore.
Wigs are easy to put on and take off, they don’t get ruined or damaged easily and they wont trip anyone up. So they are a good alternative for anyone who wants a costume party but doesn’t really have the money to hire costumes.
You could have a 6ft 6 strapping football player wearing a blond cheerleader wig, and carrying a toy poodle while next to him a tiny blonde cheerleader could be wearing a bald cap and looking like a monk. Add in a few Beyonce wigs and maybe a dreadlock wig or two and you can all be having a good laugh while not having spent a lot of money or gone to a huge amount of effort.
Sometimes it is the simple things that make parties memorable and who can forget the sight of a guy running round in a funny wig. The photos alone should make it worth looking at costume wigs as a option fro your next party.
